M.A.C.H. 3 is a laserdisc game created by Mylstar/Gottlieb in 1983. In M.A.C.H. 3, you pilot either a "Fighter" plane or a "Bomber" plane, hitting targets in the air or on the ground while avoiding enemy fire. M.A.C.H. 3 uses video footage from the laserdisc as background, and it overlays computer graphics for your ship and the enemy ships.

In order to record the video footage for the game, a specially designed plane was used that had cameras mounted on the nose and in the belly. To keep the video from the laserdisc player and the computer graphics in sync, target data was entered by hand, one frame at a time, onto the right audio track of the laserdisc. This was a very time-consuming process but worth the effort, as M.A.C.H. 3 was one of the most successful laserdisc games of all time.
